Breaking: Mahama Denounces False Publication of his Wealth

Former President of Ghana and presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress has urged the public to disregard any publication pertaining to his wealth.   This was contained in a press release signed by his Special Aide Joys Bawah Mogtari in the early hours of Saturday, 26th August, 2023, with around $900 million. AriseGhana to Join Minority Caucus for #OcupyBOG Demo

Ghanaian pressure group, AriseGhana has announced that it will join the Minority Caucus's #OcupyBOG demonstration to force the Governor of the Bank of Ghana to resign.  In a press statement released in the early hours of Monday, August 21, 2023, the pressure group argued that "after painstakingly studying the damning revelations contained in the 2022 Report and financial statements of the Bank of Ghana, we have come to the conclusion that the Central Bank is in the unprecedented mess it presently finds itself because of crass mismanagement by the Addison-led Board and management." Sad: Soldier Accidental Killed Himself Near Michel Camp

A Ghanaian soldier has reportedly killed himself by accident. The incident was announced in a press release by the Department of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces signed by Brigadier General E Aggrey-Quashie, Director General of Public Relations on 19th August, 2023. According to the release, the Soldier, Private (Pte)  Bayou Roger, member of the 5th Infantry Battalion died as a result of a suspected "accidental discharge." The statement revealed that the incident occurred on Saturday, 19th August, 2023 while the soldier was performing duties at the Base Ammunition Depot Near Michel Camp. "Preliminary investigative report indicates the soldier was seen sitting on his bed, waiting to relieve his colleague at a duty post at 0800 hours when his rifle went off hitting him under his chin;killing him instantly. Menzgold Saga: Customers must Pay to Check Transaction Status, Says Nam1

Chief Executive Officer of Defunct Menzgold Nana Appiah Mensah (Nam 1) has directed customers to purchase an access card worth 650 Ghana cedis in order to be able to check their transaction status which is part of series of what he termed as "due diligence" before payments.  In a release addressed to the media on August 18, 2023, the CEO indicated that as part of the final phase of due diligence , customers who believe they have genuine indebted transaction claims should  check their transaction status by acquiring the Mezgold Digital Access Card at Gh 650.00 each from any authorized Pyboy agent to verify their transaction validation status from 10th August 2023- 14th September, 2023, and to also upload the original copies of their transaction supporting documents.  The company earlier alleged that over 60% of claims made during the validation of transaction supporting documents of customers were fraught with unacceptable infractions which invalidate the questions.  ...

Institute Disciplinary Proceedings against Attorney General: Assin North MP

Member of Parliament for Assin North Constituency, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson has petitioned the General Legal Council to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Godfrey Yeboah Dame for what he described as professional misconduct.  The MP is facing criminal charges in relation to his 2020 election candidacy and subsequent winning. EC Announces Dates for Registration of new Voters, Replacements: All you Need to Know

 Mrs. Jean Mensa, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, revealed during a press conference in Accra on Thursday that the EC would begin registering new voters from September 12, 2023 to October 2, 2023 at its 268 District Offices. This is to pave the way for citizens who have attained the ages of 18 years and above to register in order to participate in the District Level Elections.  The EC has set Tuesday, December 19, 2023 for the 2023 District Level Elections.  Members who were elected in 2019 and whose terms end in December of current year will be replaced by newly elected members. The polls would be held in all 6,272 electoral zones, with the exception of Nkoranza North and Nzoranka South in the Bono East Region, according to the EC. Kennedy Agyeapong does not Qualify to be the NPP's Flagbearer let alone President of Ghana: Bongo Ideas Fires

Self-acclaimed Ghanaian influencer and social media pundit, Albert Nat Hyde, popularly known as Bongo Ideas has taken a subtle dig at the Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency and aspiring flagbearer of the New Patriotic Part (NPP).  Kennedy Agyeapong is one of the leading candidates in the race to the flagbearersgip of the NPP. The MP has in numerous occassions expressed his readiness to become the president of Ghana and to drive economic development, depite the fact that his government has failed to bring same to the Ghanaian citizen.  Bongo Ideas decided to add his voice to the debates of who will make a better candidate for the NPP and president of Ghana.
