Man in Police Custody for Allegedly Slashing Farm Owner's Throat

A youn man has allegedly beheaded his landlord during a misunderstanding in a farming community of Yaw Anane in the Bia West District of the Western North Region. 


According to Adomonline, the incident happened happened in the morning of Monday, August 21, 2023. It has also been confirmed by the Assemblyman for Nafana Electoral Area, Augustine Bediako. 

According to reports, the victim, identified as Kwasi Antoh, aged 60, owned a farm where the alleged killer, Yaw Wotoro worked as a caretaker, and where the incident took place. 

It was further revealed that the tragic incident occurred after Kwasi Antoh visited his farm and was displeased with its conditiion especially when rucial farm practices such as weeding and pruning had not been carried out, which he complained to the farm’s caretaker, Yaw Wotoro. It was also alleged that the suspect believed the landlord had been showing undue interest in his 19-year-old daughter.

The encounter took another turn when Yaw Wotoro took offense at the owner’s complaints, and in the process, the caretaker reportedly attacked Kwasi Antoh with a cutlass, slashing his neck leading to his tragic demise.

The suspect is said to have escaped from the scene. However, the community members quickly came together to conducted an extensive search which led to his identification and subsequent apprehension.

The suspect is currently in police custody at Akatiso in the Bia West District, pending further investigation and legal proceedings.

According to Adomonline, Augustine Bediako, the Assemblyman, expressed his condolences and advised community members to promptly report any threats or suspicious activities to the police or local authorities.
